Delegates of Bahir Dar University led by the Academic Vice President, Dr. Essey Kebede, has paid a visit to University of Gezira in Sudan

Bahir Dar University higher officials including Dr. Essey Kebede, Vice President for Academics, Dr. Tamrat Tesfaye, Scientific Director of Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology and other officials visited the main campus of University of Gezira, today, 7th November, 2022.
The aim of the visit is said to discuss on and put in practice of the memorandum of actions between the institutes.
Vice Chancellor Salah Eldin Mohamed welcomed the delegates at his office. According to the Vice Chancellor, UofG is happy to host the delegates of BDU at their second home town, Wad Medani. He added that the two universities will work together for mutual benefit of the countries. On the other hand, Dr. Essey Kebede, the AVP of BDU, in turn, passed his gratitude to the Sudan team for the hospitality on behalf of BDU delegates and remarked that there are a lot of areas of cooperation between the two sister Universities.
The delegates of BiT- BDU has started discussion with the officials of Engineering and Technology Faculty of UofG. And also, the EiTEX delegates made a discussion with the officials of Faculty of Industries Engineering and Technology, the former Faculty of Textile Engineering. The topics of discussion were potential introduction, on how to proceed with forms of cooperation among which capacity building, faculty exchange, joint research and programs and scholarship are the priorities. Accordingly, it’s been known that four students are admitted for the MSc programs under Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology and some PhD applicants of UofG are underway for admission criteria evaluation. The university facilities such as laboratories, ICT rooms, and classrooms were under the parts of the visit. This fruitful discussion is expected to be held on until the weekend.
